Once a strategic military location and the winter quarters for the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, the men once stationed for the season at Morristown National Historical Park were led by George Washington himself. Today, the park contains attractions like Fort Nonsense, the Washington's Headquarters Museum, the Ford Mansion, a recreated soldier's hut and over 27 miles of hiking trails. It sits just southwest of town, a few miles past Spring Brook Country Club.

Washington Headquarters area: Adults $4; Children 15 and under are free. Jockey Hollow area is free.
